Our philosophy is to never compromise the quality of our product by using sub-standard or cheap materials. Wherever possible, we use Western products or those that have been manufactured locally using Western equipment and techniques.
We can successfully combine other materials such as glass, stone, metals, acrylics, leather, fabrics, and solid composite materials into projects, all of which are delivered with the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and enthusiasm.
All the timber and veneer that we use is purchased from German and Italian suppliers who have FSC® accreditation meaning that the wood is sourced from well managed renewable forests.
In addition to working with natural solid wood and wood veneers, English Workshops also has a close working relationship with Alpi, an Italian company that provides an environmentally friendly high quality re-constituted wood veneer in a variety of species, styles, colours, and finishes.
We carry out the veneering of boards in our workshop and «book match» them to enhance the beauty of the wood grain for high quality projects.
We also fabricate products which have to meet stringent fire regulations for projects such as shopping malls. For these types of projects we import fire rated MDF, which is certified for use in Russia, as well as procuring locally produced fire rated plywood.
At English Workshops, we use Western manufactured lacquers, stains, paint and priming products, such as those produced by Sayerlack and Hesse Lignal, for wood finishes.
Generally speaking, we use water based products as part of our environmental policy.
The use of fire rated lacquers is now becoming a major part of our work especially in offices, shopping malls, hotels and retail outlets along with UV stabilised polishes for such things as reception areas and shopping malls.
Our spray shop also applies paint finishes to the MDF or HDF with multiple layers to produce a high quality product.
We use high quality components for our furniture from the world-leading manufacturers such as Hettich, Hafele, BMB and Blum.
We also install bespoke metal details, trims, components and elements using materials such as brass, stainless steel and aluminium in either a natural or powder coated form.
We also provide metal support structures and frames into many of our furniture items, especially for the retail market.
MATERIALS WE WORK WITH
Over the last decade the face of laminates has changed dramatically and we have access to thousands of beautiful colours and patterns, including wood grains, stone, leather effect and textured metallic surfaces.
These products are manufactured by Egger, Formica, Polyrey, Resopal and Abet Laminati, to name but a few.
At English Workshops, we fabricate a number of products from laminates including furniture, retail products, panels, toilet cubicles, duct panel systems and worktops of various types for a variety of uses.
English Workshops is a registered fabricator of many solid composite materials including Corian and Kerrock.
These materials are available in a multitude of stunning colour variations and their properties allow for thermoforming, engraving and seamless finishing.
Solid composite surfaces are an ideal choice for restaurants, kitchens and supermarkets where they are often used in the food preparation and serving areas.
What is more, we often use these products for designer items, in combination with our bespoke joinery products, such as reception desks, furniture, etc.
Glass of all kinds is widely used in our projects in such items as reception counters, screens, furniture and retail products, including shelving and display units or cabinets.
Glass can be plain, acid etched or back painted in any colour to include company logos and designs giving dramatic and beautiful effects especially when combined with back lighting.
Acrylics are also available in many colours and can be used to form curves for such things as bars, hostess and server stations in restaurants and, when backlit, make a stunning visual impact for customers.
We are often called upon to provide lighting and power for the furniture products that we produce.
We supply and install all forms of backlighting or front lighting products that are required from manufacturers such as Philips Lighting.
Our furniture is designed with the lighting in mind and we generally use LED as the light source is very effective with the minimum of heat output. This protects the wooden furniture items from distortion or veneer bubbling due to heat.
In addition, we can provide the internal power and data requirements for the furniture items using products especially made for this purpose.
